Pulse Documentation
Welcome to Pulse! Below you'll find answers to common questions and guides to help you get started, optimize your setup, and understand how everything works.
Overview
Getting Started
Step 1: Create Your First Project
Projects in Pulse are like campaigns β each one represents a niche, offer, or audience you're targeting. Start by creating one based on your product or service.
- Use one project per business, client, or product line.
- Include details that help Pulse's AI generate more relevant replies.
Example: "I'm promoting a guide on affiliate marketing for beginners" helps Pulse tailor replies to posts in that space.
Step 2: Identify Opportunities
Pulse uses your keywords to surface relevant posts and comments. When a match is found, Pulse then checks to see if the match is actually relevant. We filter out 99% of posts and comments that match your keywords so you only get the most relevant opportunities.
To find the best opportunities:
- Use the keywords from common questions or problems your audience asks
- Try broad terms first, then refine over time
- Include a thorough description of your project, including your target audience, core offering, and unique selling points
If you're not getting matches, try fewer AND groups or more common keywords.
Step 3: Engage Leads from Reddit
When Pulse finds a match, it will notify you and generate a draft reply you can send. Personalize it or send it as-is to engage directly with potential leads.
- Youβll get notified when opportunities appear
- You can approve, edit, or skip replies
Add your product link or CTA when it feels natural β Pulse wonβt force it.
Keywords
Keywords are how Pulse finds relevant Reddit conversations for you.
Basic Keywords
These are simple phrases that Pulse looks for in Reddit conversations. For example:
- resume writing
- make money online
Pulse will search for exact matches in Reddit posts and comments.
Advanced Keyword Matching (AND/OR logic)
Combine words intelligently. For example, to match posts like "how do I earn extra income?" or "get more money online", you could group keywords like:
- Group 1: earn, get, make
- Group 2: income, money, salary
The post or comment must match at least one keyword from each group. It's like building a funnel that narrows results to only the most relevant.
Promotion
The "Promotion" toggle controls whether Pulse will try to promote your product or offer when replying β typically by including your website link or brand name when it feels natural and relevant to the post.
- β ON:Pulse will try to naturally include a link to your website or a brief mention of your service (e.g. "we help startups get their first 100 users") when the post's context supports it.
- Example: On a post asking how to get early traction for a SaaS tool, Pulse might reply with:
"We struggled with that too β our team at AcmeGrowth helps SaaS founders grow via Reddit. Here's a breakdown we wrote: acmegrowth.com/reddit-playbook" - Example: For a question about promoting a course, Pulse may say:
"You might want to try answering questions on Reddit. I've seen success that way β we built a platform that automates it: promotehub.io" - β OFF:Pulse will still generate helpful, relevant replies β just without any link or mention of your brand or service.
Pulse only promotes your site or product when it fits naturally in the conversation. The goal is to be helpful first, not salesy.
Reddit Monitoring
- β All public Reddit posts and comments
- β Across all subreddits
- β In real time
If you're not seeing matches:
- Your keywords may be too narrow or uncommon
- Try switching to advanced mode
- Try broader or alternative phrasing
- Use fewer groups (too many AND groups can be too strict)

Best Practices
Reddit Marketing Do's and Don'ts
- Do provide real value in your comments β share personal experience, advice, or insight
- Do read the subreddit rules before posting or commenting
- Do use an anonymous Reddit account to avoid brand backlash or looking spammy
- Don't post the same comment across multiple subreddits
- Don't engage in vote manipulation
Optimizing Keyword Setup
Well-crafted keywords are the foundation of finding quality opportunities. Tips:
- Focus on phrases your target customers might use in questions
- Use advanced matching to group verbs and nouns (e.g., get/make + money/income)
- Avoid overly broad terms like "startup" or "growth"
Start with a few focused keyword groups and refine over time based on match performance.
Plans & Usage
Usage & Limits
- You have monthly limits based on your plan
- Limits reset monthly, based on your signup or billing date
- You can upgrade at any time from your Subscription Page
Types of Limits
Pulse has two main types of usage limits:
- Relevancy Checks: The number of posts and comments matching your keywords that are verified for relevance to your project. When you hit this limit, you will still be able to view matches and drafts, but they will not be verified for relevance. Pulse filters out spammy or irrelevant matches, which typically accounts for 99% of your matches.
- Reply Drafting: The number of AI-generated responses we can create. When you hit this limit, you will still be able to view matches and drafts, but you will not be able to generate new replies.
You can view your current usage and limits on your Usage Page.
What Happens When You Hit Your Limit
When you hit a limit, Pulse will prevent that activity until you upgrade your plan or your limit resets. You'll still be able to:
- View matches and drafts
- Receive new matches
- Edit and manually reply
- Access your analytics reports
- Upgrade to resume automatic replies
